We’re excited to share that COURSE Restaurant was featured by Scottsdale.com for the return of our 12 Days of Christmas Tasting Menu, inspired in 2025 by the holiday classicA Christmas Story.
The feature highlights Executive Chef Cory Oppold’s love of the holiday season and the creativity he brings to the annual 12 Days of Christmas experience. This year’s menu took memorable moments from the film and reimagined them as an eight-course tasting experience filled with nostalgia, storytelling, and the playful details that have become a signature of COURSE.
Among the featured dishes wasYou’ll Shoot Your Eye Out, made with bigeye tuna, winter melon, yuzu, and masaga arare, along withSecret Decoder, an interactive course that invited guests to use a decoder key to uncover a dish of lamb, buttery beans, leek, rosemary, and jus.
The menu continued withTurkey Junkie, featuring confit turkey thigh, stuffing, Brussels sprouts, and gravy, andI Hate Meatloaf, a Wagyu interpretation served with pommes mousseline, red cabbage, and sauce. The experience concluded withOh, Fudge!, a chocolate dessert layered with coconut, toasted almond, lime leaf, and curd.
For Chef Cory and the COURSE team, the 12 Days of Christmas Menu is an opportunity to take familiar holiday memories and transform them into something entirely new. Each course combines technical execution with a sense of humor and storytelling, creating an experience that feels equally rooted in fine dining and holiday tradition.
